Easy Homemade Raspberry Pop Tarts Recipe

You only need a few minutes to prepare these delicious treats, which are flaky and crispy on the surface and warm and gooey with sour raspberry on the inside.

With just three basic ingredients, these “pop hearts” or heart-shaped handmade pop tarts are incredibly simple to make: Pie Crust, Raspberry Jam, and Eggs.

 

Ingredients for making Raspberry Pop Tarts

Given below are the ingredients you need for making Pop Tarts:

  • Heart-shaped cookie cutter.
  • A significantly smaller cookie cutter in the shape of a heart.
  • One chilled piecrust that is ready to unroll.
  • One egg.
  • Four to five teaspoons of the raspberry jam.

 

Instructions for making Homemade Pop Tarts

  1. Turn the oven on to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or coat it with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. On a sanitized surface, unroll the piecrust and cut out eight hearts.
  4. Then, to make a peekaboo crust, cut a smaller heart out of the middle of four of the hearts using a smaller heart-shaped cookie cutter.
  5. Crack an egg into a bowl and beat it with a fork. Put aside.
  6. Place one teaspoon of raspberry jam in the middle of each of the four hearts that are left.
  7. Next, use the egg to brush the exposed edges.
  8. Place the peekaboo crusts over the hearts coated in raspberries. Use a fork to crimp the edges or apply a strong push to seal them.
  9. Place the handmade pie crusts on a baking sheet that has been prepped.
  10. Bake until golden brown, 10 to 13 minutes.
  11. To cool, move to wire racks.
