Crazy to think that this time last year, I was training for 2 half marathons with just 3 weeks between! I would give so much just be back to running more than 5 miles! At this point, I can hardly get through a mile and a half. This knee injury has really taken a toll on me and all the momentum I had conquered with my long distance running. I have practiced incredible patience and doing what my body CAN do pain-free. I’d be lying if I didn’t have the desire to just push through a run & just deal with the pain, BUT I know in order to get back to be as successful as possible, I need to focus on what I can do pain-free and maintain a baseline. I am currently working towards a goal of completing the Shamrock 8K this year, pain-free!! AND I am incredibly excited to show the F*** up for my fellow runners crushing goals at Shamrock Half/Full to give my all cheering!! This challenging time too shall pass and will soon not seem as big of a deal that it appears now. Can not thank the absolutely incredible support system I have surrounding me and has been nothing but encouraging, supportive, and truth-telling!
