Tis the season for…over-eating? After indulging in my Thanksgiving feasts, I sure am feeling the burn (heartburn) and the “fluff” in my gut. While I don’t regret the time spent sipping wine, laughing with friends, and enjoying my family, I don’t feel so great physically from going completely off the rails with my eating. I feel gross. I feel sluggish. I feel sick. So, I’ve decided to do a reset between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Technically, it is a whole24 instead of a whole30. (I do want to enjoy a southern home-cooked Christmas Eve dinner with my family after all.) I have been told I’m crazy for this. But allow me to explain myself. For one, my goal this season is to find comfort and joy not in sugary treats and overindulgences, but in time spent with friends and family, savoring moments rather than unhealthy foods, and the satisfaction of staying committed to my mental and physical wellness. For two, I’ll be going to Costa Rica on Christmas night for 10 days. It will be a trip of a lifetime, and I want to feel and look my best! I’m so thankful to have rolled out of bed this morning to the first whole30 meal of my reset, already made for me by my super supportive boyfriend. Any other crazies out there doing a this month?! Let’s support one another!
